Adapted Cycling

Cycle with Wheelchair attached to side

A first for me.

The National Star College at Hereford – a college designed for people with complex and multiple learning disabilities – asked me to help get some adapted cycles they discovered in storage, restored and safe for reuse.

I didn’t know much about this arrangement, or the advantages and pitfalls, and could find very little about them on the web. So thanks to Neil Stanford at www.getcycling.org.uk and Emma Budgen at www.wheelsforwellbeing.org.uk/ for responding to my pleas for information.

The first one is fully serviced and ready to go.

They can now decide whether these will be appropriate for use at the college.

Definitely an interesting project and certainly interesting and a little unusual to ride.
