After dusting away the cobwebs from this Raleigh Pioneer it all seemed in pretty good condition apart from a sticky rear brake and a rear light positioned so it was obscured by the rear mudguard and rack. It’s time to start a new project and I have this rather excellent Raleigh — with rod brakes and three-speed Sturmey Archer rear hub. I am looking forward to stripping it down to the frame, rebuilding and seeing it working for another 50 years.
In need of a service and having a broken seat post this Raleigh Outland is now back with its happy owner. A new seat post, new tyres, new brake and gear cables and the hubs serviced and its a good as new.
